Well looked after on holiday
If you are planning an excursion, the topic of food is also part of it. With a packed lunch, you can take what you like, save money and protect the environment. A big problem with ready-made snacks is the packaging, which is often environmentally harmful. Many times, they are packed in plastic, so you can’t dispose of them properly on the way – apart from the fact that we all want to contribute to the avoidance of plastic. Regional fruit and vegetables as a healthy snack is a good choice.
Many of us now carry our own drinking bottle with us almost all the time, and so we can do without small disposable bottles on holiday. Make sure that you get water of drinking quality. If you are unsure, ask at the hotel.
The preparation for an excursion is a little easier in a holiday apartment. Buy a few rolls more at the baker, cover them with your favorite spreads and take them with you in your own lunch box. But also, our hotels are well-prepared when it comes to packed lunches: The SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA will be happy to put together a tasty lunch box for you using only paper bags. For hiking or cycling tours you can get your supplies in a practical hiking backpack on request. Due to the current situation and the stricter hygiene regulations, the service staff is unfortunately not allowed to accept the cans you bring with you. This was possible so far and will hopefully be again in the future. The hotel in Bad Herrenalb has also been a partner of the German Refill Initiative since 2019. With the “Refill my bottle” program all tourists, visitors or sportsmen can have tap water filled in their own bottles free of charge. So, you can get fresh water at any time.
Okelmann’s also places great value on sustainable provisions, for a relaxing picnic in nature. The nice staff of the hotel will be happy to compose a picnic basket according to your wishes. The delicacies are packed in small glasses and other sustainable containers in an environmentally friendly way.
On departure, you will receive a packed lunch in biodegradable packaging made of recycled materials. The products used at hotel Okelmann’s are always seasonal, many of them are from our own cultivation.
High in the north of Germany, in the Bio Familienhotel Gut Nisdorf you can help yourself to the breakfast buffet. Take whatever provisions you need for the day and pack the food in the tins and containers you have brought with you. By the way, this has been the case here for 20 years now, because Sabine Stange and Jürg Gloor deliberately focus on families with small children as their target group. And anyone who has ever experienced a hungry child knows that it is better to have one or two snacks in your pocket — just in case. In the dining room, you will always find a basket of fruit as well as juice spritzers and water.
