New online store at Berghotel Rehlegg

The Berghotel Rehlegg has recently opened its own online store, where you can easily order homemade and culinary products. From delicious herbal tea to a bread basket made of felt to home-smoked specialties, there are many great things. A very special highlight of the hotel is also the homemade cheese. The cheese maker Gerhard Hochgräber turns organic milk from Ramsau into delicious cheese specialties at the hotel. For ten kilograms of cheese, he needs about 100 liters of milk. Depending on the preparation, the different varieties are then created. For a Parmesan, the cheese curd is heavily crushed and the milk is heated more than for a Tilsiter, for example.

Gerhard Hochgräber explains how the holes get into the Tilsiter: ” To do this, the cheese curd is not poured into the molds together with the whey, but poured in with a vessel. This creates the small holes. With mountain cheese, you don’t want to have those right now, so you don’t let any air get to it and you fill the curd ‘under the whey,’ that’s what you call it.”

Own wine and vinegar at Relais La Subida

The Relais La Subida is located at the border between Italy and Slovenia in Friuli. The famous trattoria stands out with delicious food and has a Michelin star. Of course, only the best ingredients will be sold to you. For example, they prepare their own wine and vinegar, which comes from the hotel’s vineyards. The cheese comes from an alpine farm in the foothills of the Alps and is processed by a cheese company in Emila Romagna from August to November, until it is finally offered at La Subida. This process produces an intense and particular flavor, which is also determined by the way the cows are raised.

Buy upcycling products in online store

The Creativhotel Luise in Erlangen is not named like that for no reason. There are some sustainable upcycling products to discover in the hotel. You can also find many of them in the hotel’s online store. For example, you can decorate your garden or balcony with an upcycling garland in different sizes. There is also homemade honey and peach liqueur. In addition, the hotel offers various vouchers for a stay or massages.
