Corona has dominated our lives for almost a year now, and travel is, if at all, only possible to a limited extent. Since the first lockdown in the spring of 2020, hotels have had to close for tourist overnight stays, and after a brief recovery in the summer, they have now been closed again since November. This has created major challenges for hoteliers around the world. Some of the Green Pearls® hoteliers are defying the situation and using the time for renovations and implement new ideas.

Biohotel Sturm
In December 2020, Christa and Matthias Schulze Dieckhoff decided on the “Corona attack,” as they call it. It is about the renovation of the rooms, the bathrooms are getting new facilities, faucets, shower heads, hairdryers, accessories and partly the lighting is renewed. The rooms on the 2nd floor will be completely renovated with earth plaster, regional oak wood, and the fabrics and curtains will be adapted to the new color concept.
The former “Sonnenstube” will become an open air, modern room with seating made of natural materials where guests can meet and relax by the fireplace. The SPA area also gets a facelift, selected fabrics and warm colors provide even more feel-good ambience.
All heating and electrical systems will be modernized and the exterior walls will be ecologically isolated.
After the Corona forced break, you can also look forward to a new kitchen concept at Biohotel Sturm, which is all about sharpening your senses. We are not telling you too much at this point, but we will tell you about it.

Hubertus Unplugged in Balderschwang
Do you remember the snow avalanche that happened almost exactly two years ago in Balderschwang? It destroyed almost the entire wellness area and also other parts of the holistic wellness hotel Hubertus. Miraculously, no guest was injured at that time.
Since then, the Hubertus has been extensively renovated. We took a look around for you and are amazed. In May 2021, the new SPA area made of concrete, spruce wood and glass will be opened. You can also expect a natural bathing pond, an alpine Zen garden with a Japanese onsen pool, an infinity pool with a fantastic view of the Allgäu mountains, a micro-salt cabin and a south-facing open-air area. In the sauna area you will find different sauna types and daily varying sauna rituals. By the way, Hubertus uses the waste heat from the sauna floor to keep the natural bathing pond ice-free in winter and to cool the floor in summer. Pretty cool, in our opinion. The yogis amongst you will also get their money’s worth, there are indoor as well as outdoor yoga rooms and many offers.
Would you like to be part of it? For the opening there is a special offer for three nights in a double room Hochalp, including luxury board, time-out bonus worth 120 euros for a spa treatment per person and many other inclusive services such as yoga, sunrise hikes, herbal workshops, food coaching, etc.

Creativhotel Luise
Modification / renovation work in the Creativhotel Luise 2020/21- DIY at its best
The Creativhotel Luise was hit by two massive floods in addition to the Corona challenge. There was severe water damage in the wellness area. Ben Förtsch, the young creative owner and his team managed the renovation themselves, focusing as always on sustainability. Where possible, existing materials and furniture have been used, such as a self-built sideboard made of natural wood for one of the massage rooms. The vanities in the guest bathrooms were built from the drawers of a discarded closet. A small private area, which you can book exclusively just for you, now completes the wellness area.
In the newly designed relaxation area, discarded shutters are used as decoration. There are also plans to create a small, refined outdoor area. The fitness room is also being redesigned. A garden house awaits you in the breakfast room, where you can have breakfast all by yourself – here, too, only materials and decorations that were already available were used. The rooms received a new floor and the garage was designed more friendly.

Eco Park Hotel Azalea
Eco Park Hotel Azalea in Trentino is also busy renovating. Rooms are combined, some equipped with a sauna, the goal of owner Manuela is to get 2021 the half star, which is missing to the four star hotel. For the yoga fans amongst you, a new yoga and massage room is being built in the garden. Meetings and courses in nutrition and holistic practices are also planned there.
The kitchen concept makes the heart of the vegetarians amongst you beat faster.
Alpine plantbased: 100% vegetarian and plant-based cuisine in the mountains with mountain recipes and mountain products. The products are sourced from small local manufacturers and farmers.
For the active ones amongst you there are many offers like conscious hiking, yoga and also guided mountain tours.

SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA
Stephan Bode and his team at SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA are planning to expand the outdoor terrace with more loungers and an outdoor sauna in 2021. In addition, the terrace of the SPA is to be renewed and 4 more e-charging stations are also planned.
