Spring in Green Pearls® hotels – Garden inspiration

Spring is just around the corner and we asked our partner hotels about what’s happening in their gardens now. Of course, we are happy to pass on the inspiration and tips to you. And even if you don’t have your own garden, some ideas can be implemented wonderfully on the balcony or the window sill.

Growing kitchen herbs yourself

You might not associate the Maldives directly with a blooming garden, but the Gili Lankanfushi has created an efficient kitchen garden. The team is enthusiastic and recommends that you also grow some herbs and spices at home. How about basil, dill, mint, oregano, spinach, thyme or whatever else you like. Home-cooked dishes can be wonderfully enhanced and taste even better.

Revaluate tap water

The SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA believes in the use of functional raised beds. These are now being replanted in the spring. Asparagus, rhubarb and wild garlic will then finally be back on the hotel’s menu. By the way, the hotel uses the herbs that also grow in the raised beds to offer you tap water with flavor. A simple tip to try at home, too!

New buildings for animal inhabitants

The Summit Lodges vacation homes in Tyrol will get a new wooden fence in spring, which will replace the broken metal fence. The new fence will make it easier for small animals to get onto the property and squirrels, rabbits, martens or cats will be able to help themselves to the food in the animal enclosure. Also the bees and birds are being taken care of. Additional bee hotels and feeding stations will be built and new native trees will be planted. In the summer you can then relax in the blooming garden and with a little luck observe the animal inhabitants.

Surrounded by green

The organic and family friendly Gut Nisdorf trusts in stability and the use of evergreen plants. In the spring, dost, peppermint sage and chives sprout again and will soon be used in the kitchen. Strawberry plants were moved to a sunnier spot in fall and will need care again in the spring. The Landscape Maintenance Association, with whom the hotel also works for the garden label, will come in April to trim the trees. The large garden awakens again from its winter rest and you can enjoy the deep green all around.
