Creative use of food – Smoothie recipes from Green Pearls® Hotels

Do you often buy fruit or vegetables and then decide to eat something different from what you had planned to eat or suddenly have an appointment? You have the ripe products at home and don’t know what to do with them. The Green Pearls® Hotels also have this issue sometimes and therefore like to share their smoothie recipes with you to try out at home.

 

Creative reuse

If you are engaged in sustainability, there is no way around waste avoidance and recycling. Creative experiments with supposed waste can be a lot of fun, as the Do-It-Yourself movement has been showing for years. And not only great furniture can be made from old euro pallets, but you can also create something tasty from something that is supposed to be non-eatable. Did you know that you can mix the shell of the watermelon in your smoothie? Another tip for you: if the consistency of your smoothie is too thick, you can easily mix it with juice.

 

Banana Peel Smoothie

The cuisine at Zeavola Resort in Thailand serves you refreshing meals with local ingredients. The smoothie recipe with banana peels is particularly unusual. However, we recommend using organic bananas.

BANANA PEEL SMOOTHIE

Ingredients
  • 3 diced bananas with skin
  • 3 medium-sized diced apples with skin
  • 15 fresh raspberries
  • 10 strawberries, halved
  • 1 l almond milk
Directions
  • Step 1 Mix all ingredients with a mixer to a smooth mixture.
  • Step 2 If necessary add some more almond milk if the drink is too thick.
  • Step 3 Pour into glasses and serv

Ingredients
  • 1 Melon (approx. 1 kg)
  • ½ Pineapple (ca.600 g)
  • 2 Quinces (ca.300 g)
  • 50g Peppermint
  • 35g Fresh ginger
Directions
  • Step 1 Clean and cut all fruit.
  • Step 2 Place in a juicer or blender.
  • Step 3 Then add finely grated ginger and peppermint.
  • Step 4 If the result is too thick, pour the liquid through a sieve.
