Spring is here and there are many colorful flowers to enjoy everywhere – the blossoming season has begun. We asked our partner hotels which flowers you will be able to see in the gardens around the hotels. Most of the plants are not only blooming beautifully but are also being used by the hotels and are available for you to taste.

The feeling of spring
With the increasing light intensity, your body produces more serotonin, the so-called happiness hormone. And your good mood is boosted even more by the many colorful spots in nature. At the SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA, for example, the beautiful snowdrops are blooming right in front of the SPA area. While you relax there and look out through the large panorama window, you can also discover the first blossoms.

Alpine Rose Honey
At the Bee Hotel Rinner, alpine roses bloom at an altitude of about 1,700 meters. In the botanical sense, the alpine rose is not a rose at all, but a type of rhododendron. The purple flowers of the evergreen bush bloom from May to July. The beautiful blossoms are not only something for the eye, because you can even eat them. The busy hotel bees help themselves with the flowers, which the hotel uses to make the delicious alpine rose honey for you. However, since there is snow in the high Alpine regions sometimes even in May, the flowers are covered and the bees are unable to get to work. So this honey is something very special and there are usually only small quantities of it. If there is alpine rose honey at Hotel Rinner, you should take advantage of it and enjoy it to the full.
Traditional varieties rediscovered
Other delicacies made from roses are also available at the organic and family hotel Gut Nisdorf. The old Rose de Resht rose blooms twice a year and gives the hotel garden a wonderful scent. A delicious jelly is made from the extract of the petals, which you can try at breakfast. Every two years, the Kornell cherry blossoms at Gut Nisdorf. The small red fruits are somewhat similar to coffee and are said to be very good for your health. They provide many different vitamins, have only a few calories, and are said to help with gout and stomach problems. The fruit has a large seed and not very much fruit flesh. The Kornell cherry tastes slightly sour and definitely different from the classic cherry fruit spread.

Kitchen garden on the Maldives
We have already presented the great kitchen garden on Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives to you several times. On the sandy and nutrient-poor soils of the Maldives, growing fruit and vegetables is a real challenge. But the hotel has managed it and can use its own organic herbs, salads, and fruit and vegetables in the kitchen. And of course, there are some unusual plants such as gooseberries, ridge pumpkins that grow upside down, or even melons. You can taste the fruits and vegetables in the hotel or even prepare them yourself during a cooking class.
