The kitchens of our partner hotels spoil you with plenty of delicacies – but who prepares them? Let’s have a look behind the scenes. Find out more about three inspiring women!
Female chefs
In 2018, only 9 female chefs were awarded a Michelin star out of a total of 300. So female chefs are a minority. All the more reason for us to be pleased about the talented women setting the tone in the kitchen of our partner hotels. We’d like to introduce you to three of them today. With a fine sense for the right mix of traditional and modern dishes, they create a special experience of taste from regional and seasonal ingredients, often sourced from their own cultivation.

Passion for regional tradition
Verena Ganzer, the chef at Hotel Outside in Austria, serves you regional delicacies in the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant INSIDE. Traditional dishes form the basis for her new creations in combination with Alpine classics with Mediterranean influences. The ingredients are organically grown and when the season permits, also directly from the hotel garden. Try, for example, the delicious brown bread made from East Tyrolean original wheat, which is baked in the hotel, with the jam, which is also homemade. Verena Ganzer’s credo here is: the shorter the path of the food, the fresher and better the taste of the dish. We can only agree.
Influenced by the world

In 1999, Patricia Yeo, the current chef at Maslina Resort, opened her first restaurant, AZ, in New York and was awarded two Michelin stars in 2002. Her innovative cuisine is shaped by the influences of her international upbringing. Malaysia, England, and the United States were countries she lived and learned. After more than twenty years in the New York restaurant scene, Patricia Yeo decided to work as a consultant for national and international restaurant groups. She managed a wide variety of restaurants in Las Vegas, the Caribbean, London, Singapore, Oman, Turkey, and Cambodia.
And how did she end up in Croatia, on the beautiful island of Hvar, at Maslina Resort? Quite simply, Patricia Yeo discovered the vacancy via a LinkedIn post! She has been leading the culinary team there since March 2020. The chef is especially happy about having her own hotel garden. This has been a dream for her for a long time.

Experience the cuisine of the Piedmont
Locanda Mistral in Piedmont is surrounded by unspoiled nature providing a lot of homegrown products. Chef Manuela Botte is a busy woman, as she also is the owner of Locanda Mistral. Manuela’s traditional dishes of the Maira Valley are famous. A passionate cook, she likes to interpret traditional dishes into new, modern recipes. The dishes are determined through the regional and seasonal availability of the used products. Manuela’s husband Renato takes care of their own vegetable and herb garden with lots of love. Preferably organic food is purchased.
