Sustainable deco inspirations from the Green Pearls® hotels

How does sustainable decoration actually work? Some of our Green Pearls® hotels would like to inspire you with their creative ideas.

Sure, you have probably heard of ” upcycling” before. For some years now, self-made furniture from euro-pallets has been an integral part of the street scene, standing in front of cafés and restaurants. Materials from nature are also popular decorative objects. Let yourself be surprised and inspired to imitate them.

Artistic Tongsai Bay

That upcycling can also be art is something you can experience in Tongsai Bay on Koh Samui in Thailand. In the lobby of the hotel some works of the Thai artist Mook Vinyartan (known as MookV) are exhibited. The award-winning designer uses different materials for her art, such as recycled paper and things that would otherwise end up as garbage. Her works are symbolic of her commitment to sustainable living. The colorful artworks of MookV are inspired by the diversity of nature. They are meant to remind us of the transience of nature and the associated transience of beauty. Perhaps the collages will awaken in you the desire to become creative. Just take a close look at your surroundings and let yourself be inspired!

An eye-catcher at every corner

The name is program in the Creativhotel Luise in Erlangen. Here nothing is carelessly disposed of and old things are given new life. So old building plans became self-made chains of flags, which since then beautify the inner courtyard. If you take a closer look around the hotel, you’ll see natural wood from branches and tree trunks in many places, which decorate the rooms as natural decoration. There are also bizarre decorative elements like pants from which plants grow. A great eye-catcher are the many flower pots made of former jam jars (a tip for copying). Coasters made of carpet rests or candles in wine bottles are also suitable for making yourself.

Upcycling in the SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA

Many things are reused with pleasure in the SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA. There you can also find “candle glasses” from old bottles. The tops of the bottles are used for table numbers and the corks become seat cards. The hotel also often uses things from nature like chestnuts as table decorations for the brunch in autumn. There is also a creative imitation tip for your New Year’s Eve party: golden confetti from coffee packaging – simply shiny!

Maritime nature decoration

The Lifestylehotel SAND combines maritime and modern design. Hotel owner Marion Muller says: “We love nature and keep it simple”. And so the decoration consists of lots of wood and driftwood from the beach. Eye-catchers are also sustainable products, like the my Boo bicycle equipped with slippers and towels in the middle of the hotel corridor.

Homemade treasures

Our new green pearl in Austria the vacation homes Summit Lodges are also furnished with sustainable decoration. Here, too, the focus is on homemade and creative. So hearts are made of wood or old horse cord stuff becomes an original lamp. Materials from nature or found objects from the attic are used. As you can see, there are many other uses, you just have to be creative.
