In recent weeks, you have probably heard the term social distancing everywhere. It’s about the physical distance that we should all maintain in order to contain the spread of the virus. Already a hundred years ago, when the Spanish flu was circulating, people were called upon to keep their distance. Also, in our hotels there are different measures, which you have to consider and we explain in the following.
Social Distancing: A lot of space for your safety
The Hotel Lamm in Baiersbronn has developed its own hygiene and safety concept, which enables you to spend an almost unrestricted and relaxed vacation. Plexiglas panels have been inserted between the seating niches in the restaurant so that you are protected and can still see the other guests. All employees wear mouth-and-nose protection so that you can move freely without a mask.
Professional support at Maslina Resort, Croatia
Maslina Resort in Croatia cooperates with Health and Safety Advisor Dr. Zsanett Jakab, who has worked in ministries and pharmaceutical companies in the field of medical protocol development. Together they have agreed on the following measures for your protection:
- Express check-in and check-out.
- Disposable gloves and fabric face masks are available.
- Thermometers are available at the hotel reception.
- 70% alcohol-based disinfectants in all public areas.
- Clinically proven UV-C light disinfection units installed in all guest rooms and enclosed public spaces. After guests leave, all rooms are thoroughly cleaned and not entered for 2 hours to ensure that the UV-C light reaches all surfaces in the room, including the mattresses. The supply of fresh air in all rooms is constantly monitored by the latest generation of sensors. The hotel recommends turning off the air conditioning and opening the balcony doors.

Social Distancing on the Maldives: Gili Lankanfushi
At Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives, the above-water villas are spread over three jetties, and each of the 45 villas is about 10 meters apart. The villas are above the water and offer you open-air rooms, roof terraces and private decks with direct access to the turquoise sea. Here you will find enough space for a relaxing vacation with distance. The restaurants offer you sitting areas with lots of privacy. You can also dine under the stars on the beach or in your own villa. The number of people participating in the daily yoga classes at sunrise is limited or individual sessions are offered. For breakfast and the popular theme evenings there will be no buffet selection for the time being, but an à la carte menu. This will also reduce food waste in the resort.

As a small luxury resort with only 38 villas, Social Distancing has minimal impact on your stay at Keemala. Measures like wearing masks, hygiene stations, dining tables with distance and necessary reservations for the restaurant and spa hardly affect your vacation. Keemala continues to provide authentic experiences while following strict guidelines. Enjoy the resort’s new services, either in the privacy of your villa or on the terrace of the restaurant. From afternoon tea to traditional “Samrab Phuket” cuisine, Thai style grills and stews, to private cocktail hour at the villa, you’ll find everything you need.
Social Distancing at Cerf Island Resort
Also, the Cerf Island Resort on Seychelles welcomes you again and has put together an extensive package of measures. The boat that picks you up will be disinfected before and after your arrival. You will also be required to wear a face mask during the transfer and to disinfect your hands beforehand. Your luggage will be disinfected at the jetty before it is taken to the boat. Upon arrival at the resort, you will be accompanied directly to the check-in at your villa. Compulsory temperature checks and health checks are carried out during the check-in process and daily during your stay according to the requirements of the health authorities. You will find a bottle of hand disinfectant in your villa. Cerf Island Resort recommends that you disinfect your hands frequently. The villas are thoroughly cleaned and well ventilated. After checking out, they are left empty for 24 hours before the next guests are received. The beach chairs have been rearranged to maintain a safe distance and are disinfected after each use. Beach towels are stored in the villas. All employees wear disposable gloves, aprons, masks and hairnets. Mandatory hand washing is done before and after the preparation of each meal. At the workstations, the rules of distance are observed. Basic cleaning of the worktops, cooking stations and the kitchen floor is carried out after each service.
Social Distancing: With a pinch of humor through the crisis at Biohotel Sturm
Matthias Schulze Dieckhoff, the owner of the Biohotel Sturm, has deliberately dispensed with all the usual signs. The markings were written in chalk on black paper and pictures were painted. In front of the public toilets, you will find loose slogans: “one-man show” or “one-woman show“. For dinner, the hotel offers two dinner times, 18:00 and 20:00, so there is enough space between the tables. There will be instructions on hand disinfection, masks are mandatory in the walking area and of course distance to other guests. Experience in the spa shows that guests are considerate and wait until the sauna is free again.

The family Ganzer of the Hotel Outside in East Tyrol relies on transparent and conscious communication with the guests and keeps you informed about the current status. In the entire buffet area, masks are obligatory and the number of guests for the indoor pool and sauna area is limited.
If possible, breakfast will be served on the terrace.
La Subida Relais
Among many other measures, the number of tables in the two restaurants of La Subida Relais in Friuli in Italy has been significantly reduced to ensure the greatest possible distance. Also, the distance between the guests at the same tables is one meter. Whenever possible, you will sit on the terraces.
